Each issue of a literary magazine is a living art object. Readers, writers, artists lock eyes within.

Midwest Review is a unique regionally-focused, print magazine. A big experiment to bring an array of voices and visions together. The aim is to present a complex portrait of a complicated region. We hope to celebrate and challenge, preserve and disrupt.

This is our second issue as editors of Midwest Review, but we couldn’t have done it without our team. Thank you David Heinen, Heather Luby, Travis Brown, Kim Chinqee, and Tara Sparbel. Thank you to our interns Reilly and Ava. You’re the ones who brought this issue to life.
