Fading Memories of the Midwest
JAMES ASAVA, a biracial experimental artist based out of northern Michigan, delves into the realms of cyanotypes and various alternative processes as well as using ceramics as a canvas incorporating images on hand-built vessels. Rooted in a desire to connect with his Indian heritage, Asava utilizes tangible objects as a means of exploration and healing. His artistic journey becomes a contemplative process, where the medium becomes a conduit for cultural introspection.
